CARAT (Computer-Aided Rolling process Analysis and quality conTrol) Computer-aided process data analysis and diagnosis system.
In the past, when abnormalities in production line equipment caused poor product quality, on-site engineers had to find the source of the problem from the equipment based on their own experience. The process data sources of different equipment were scattered everywhere and were even temporarily stored. Therefore, it is not only time-consuming to compare the source of the problem, but may even be unable to find the exact source at all.
In order to respond to this dilemma, China Steel T1 and Y4 hot-rolled production lines began to introduce the data database management method of Japanese steel mills between 1998 and 2000, built a CARAT system, developed a process database, and fully included it in the rolling and delaying process data including Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3, and are classified and presented in a single steel coil (Coil-Based), which facilitates process engineers to analyze and compare various processes of single or batch steel coils according to the coil ID, and can conduct process conditions tracking, quality improvement analysis, and promote it to the development and design of new processes to improve the process capabilities of rolling and delaying production lines. CARAT uses the network to provide rolling information and technology, assisting on-site engineers in real time to improve and solve process problems, or control product quality levels, and accurately adjust process parameters.
Currently, the Carat network architecture of each China Steel plant is as follows:System hardware provides end host for F3
L2 reports receive Coil-based data, and does not directly connect to L1. The data form is (1) database (2) CSV archive (network drive)
The data source provided by L2 needs to be able to connect with the OA network segment to connect with the cloud hosts that are also in the OA network segment.
